In 2016, the company purchased their Raise3D N2. Engineer Lu is the primary user within the company. Lu studied industrial design, specializing in UAV during his undergraduate. He has two years of experience in UAV design. In terms of UAV design, he defines size, shape outline, rotor blade and motor size, and optimization.

The pan-tilt-zoom camera mount prototype with camera installed.

Brainy Bee UAV currently uses their Raise3D N2 printer for prototyping in the pan-tilt-zoom camera mount. The PTZ (pan-tilt-zoom) camera is a camera that is capable of remote directional and zoom control.
Lu first designed the PTZ mount with optimization for 3D printing in mind. This is designed and exported in an .STL format. Once the model is printed, the parts can be directly assembled with the UAV hull and a sports camera can be mounted for direct testing. 
Before 3D printing, Lu not only need to design but also prepare 2D drawing. According to specifications made on the 2D drawing, he would measure, cut, drill and screw fiberglass or carbon fibr plates together to create a rough prototype simply consisting of the measurements and basic function. Such prototypes only ensure function testing such as the instalment and mounting. The appearance is very ugly and far from original design. 

With N2, Lu can directly print a final version of the PTZ mount complete with full functions, but without investing time or energy in hand-crafting work.

Creating a PTZ mount by hand would be a week-long process of hand labor. When 3D printing, the PTZ is completed in no more than 10 hours, and the only involvement was made in the initial design. Just in time alone, this has decreased the production time by 94.05%
